Nanshan Natural Scenic Area is also called “Nanshan pasture”. It located at the northern foot of the Kalawuchen Mountain, a spur of the Tianshan Mountains, 75km south of Urumqi. The main scenic spots are:

Note: If it is your first time to Xinjiang and your trip is not including Northern Xinjiang tour, this place is recommended. At an elevationof 2,252 meters. It is the most popular scenic spot in Nanshan. Your eyes will be greeted by a beatuiful picture of steep mountains, luxuriant grassland, herds of sheep and cattle, and Kazak yurts scattered sparsely on the meadow.
Gangou Chrysanthemum Terrace
Located in the west of the Shuixigou, this is a world of wild flowers at 2,000-2,400 meters above sea level. It is a typical pasture landscape with blooming flowers and herds of sheep and cattle.
East Poplar Gully
It stands just opposite West Poplar Gully with a river in between, where giant poplars kiss the sky. Water gushes down, and luxuriant grass carpets the bank of the river. It is an ideal place for exploration and sightseeing.
Situated in the west of Mount Zhaobi, Miao’er Gully extends about 8 km, with fresh air and a cool and quiet environment, the valley is an excellent summer resort. Nearby a waterfall cascades down like a giant water curtain.
The valley is called “A kingdom of Glaciers” thanks to 5 modern glaciers here. The biggest Glacier is 2.4 km long, with an average width of 500 meters. At 3,800 meters, it covers a total area of 1.95 sq km. There are 76 glaciers, big and small, spread around the area.
Silk Road International Ski Resort
It covers an area of 1 million square meters with 18 ski runs for senior, junior and expers levels. There are also other facilities for your choice, such as gliding, fire ballon delt wing, small copter etc.
