On the west of Xinjiang, there is a region called "Yili(Ili)",  the trees are the residents of the mountain, the mountain is their foundation, and the grass upon it is the golden blanket covering the ground. I always thought that the Nalati and Zhaosu grasslands were the city's beautiful skirt, but upon arriving at Yining I found out that most of the girls on the street were smoking hot.

Day 1

Arrive in Urumqi, Xinjiang

Our guide will welcome you at Urumqi train station or Airport / Drive to hotel in Urumqi.

Urumqi is a city where all kinds of nomads congregate, and also the largest concentration of gragrances in the ancient Western Region. People say that a vast region and strong challenge to survival lead men to be highly motivated, and women to be fond of beatuiful adornments and enticing perfumes. These are characteristics of the city to this day. Urumqi is complicated -coarse and fine, intense and mild, southern accent with norhern inflection – a place where all these things can be felt.

Dushanzi grand canyon, Shawan famous restaurant.

We begin our Xinjiang(Ili and Kuqa) private tour at the time you requested, after check out hotel in Urumqi, we drive to Dushanzi grand canyon. The Dushanzi canyon is one of the most beautiful Danxia landforms featuring Western China, its entrance is a flat and dry riverbed, flanked by reddish-brown cliffs, almost resembling a kind of “red square”, a kind of exciting venue. There are also layers of blue, white, yellow and green, rolling together like rumbling waves. There are numerous peaks within the valleys, with ravines and gullies criss-crossing as if in a maze. The field of view is wide at times and narrow at others – each turn around a bend takes you to a new landspace.

Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic are in which many cuisines compete with each other. The food of Xinjiang is characterised by an important aspect – it is “big”. “Big plate chicken” is one of the more representative Xinjiang dishes, rough and bold, large in dimension, with clear characteristics of the Western Region. Shawan,  the town where “Big plate chicken” is born, is famous for this signature dish.

Day 3

Sayram Lake Tour, drive to Yining.

Sayram Lake national forest park, Gouzigou(Fruit gully) hiking, Lavender museum.

We drive to Sayram lake, one of Xinjiang’s most beatuiful lakes, and has been called the sapphire of the Tianshan Mountains. It has also been called the “last tear of the Ltlantic Ocean” – it is the farthest inland area that receives moisture from the Atlantic. Grassland around lake always grows in a free manner. Unlike the grass elsewhere, which is eaten away by sheep as soon as it sprouts; here, the grass continues to sprout all spring, all the way until autumn when it still only exists as roos.Every plant will bloom, every flower will produce seeds, and in the long-lasting northwesterly wind, the seeds will be flung far away to spread.

Laying in the endless purple of a lavender field, looking back or towards the future we see reality dispelled by a deep and serene entity – color, and fragrance. In the Yili River Valley, under the western sun, lavender is mystical, beautiful and real – it has an amazing beauty. If you have the chance, you should definitely visit this legendary purple paradise.

Yi-Zhao mountain road, White stone peak, Tekes(Tex) town.

After check out the hotel, we will drive to Tekes, through the famou “Yi-zhao mountain road”, enjoy the view on the road, visit White stone peak(3,100m attitude). Zhao su is in the south of Yili.In addition to the beauty of the slopes that roll like waves and the boundless yellow or rape blossoms and the bands of green, purple, red and other colors on the landscape, there is also the sky. With light rain every day, the sky shows all knids of colors that may change moods at any time. The air is wonderful, the colors of the scenery are wonderful, and even the memories after one leaves are wonderful.

Tex in Xinjiang is a curious county town. With an area of 8 square kilometers, it has a park covering an area of 2 hectares at its center. Four roads radiate from its oblong center, mirroring the 64 trigrams and 386 constituent componenets. The plaza, hotel, mall, streets, and even the park itself, are all part of the layout and have names that are part of the Eight Trigrams.

East Kalajun Grassland.

After check out the hotel, we will drive to Kalajun grassland, it is a world of flowers in the summertime, and has been called the “prairie of the five flowers”. Day 6

Kalajun Grassland Tour

West Kalajun Grassland.

After check out the hotel, we will drive to West Kalajun grassland, seeing cattle and sheep grazing, heads buried in the grass, their dedication makes me think of herders in the same position. On the vast prairie, the wind blows poetically, and the long pastoral song accompanies the golden eagles spiralling in the sky. These things seem to have no great relationship with the herders, as they quietly face the ground, the state and distrubution of the grass dictating the gathering of herds, the sounds the cattle make forming a chorus.

Day 7

Nalati Tour

Nalati Grassland.

Nalati means “sun” in Mongolian, and it’s said that when Genghis Khan and his armies marched west, under the pressures of both cold and hunger, they found hope when they looked over this grassland. When I saw coniferous forest upon the mountain, it made me think of their army, powerful and forceful, seeing the mountain off in the distance. The trees are the residents of the mountain, the mountain is their foundation, and the grass upon it is the golden blanket covering the ground. In Xinjiang, grasslands are the boundary between the forests and deserts, covered in countless blades of shaggy grass. The story that starts with one blade of grass continues throughout the land.
