The Tian Shan (Heavenly Mountains) range is one of most picturesque ranges in China and compares favorably to any range in the Rockies or Alps.
Our guide/driver will welcome you at Urumqi train station / Drive from Urumqi Airport or Hotel to Silk Road Ski Resort.
Silk road international ski resort, Sichouzhilu or Silk way, located about 1 hour’s drive from Urumqi, the capital of China’s westernmost province, XinJiang. Urumqi is Xinjiang’s capital city of over 3 million people and it offers an ethnic experience that is defined more by the Muslim customs of Central Asia than traditional Chinese culture. The resort is fairly basic with ski shops, rental facility, restaurants and limited lodging. The terrain is decent and steep with enough snow. Ski season begins from Late Oct, ends around Mid April. 6 of the chairlifts here runs to about 2000 meters with the larger backcountry peaks rising to 2800 meters. A day-ski pass could be less than 200rmb including ski rental. Overall it is a friendly ski resort with enough facilities such as restaurants, whiskey bar, spa center, coffee shop and hotel rooms. It is one of the best ski resorts in China.
After a day-time ski and other activities, you will be escorted back to your hotel or other destination in Urumqi.
